Fittingly for the iconic Aussie brands, Qantas & Country Road launched their new collaboration on Australia Day.
A new amenity kit is now available for Qantas passengers travelling Premium Economy from Australia to London, Dubai, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Dallas, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Santiago and Johannesburg, on any of their B747 or A380 services.
The unisex kit comes in a custom black and white gingham print and is being touted as the perfect size to fit travel amenities and use on the go. The contents include a Country Road-branded (interestingly, no Qantas branding here) eye mask, socks, a toothbrush and paste. It’s a little extra something to ease the burden of your long-haul journey.
Phil Capps, Qantas’ Head of Product and Service Development, said “We love what Country Road does and we’re really proud to partner with such an iconic brand to give our customers around the world an authentic Australian experience when they fly with us,” said Mr Capps. “Premium Economy is one of our most popular cabins and appeals to customers who want a little indulgence at a reasonable price, so we continue to look for ways to improve their travel experience and often it’s the little things that count. We have always offered comfort items in Premium Economy, but we wanted to add an extra bit of luxury with the new Country Road amenity kit, which customers can use after the flight as a make-up bag, pouch for a smart-phone or personal earphones and the like,” added Mr Capps.
Sophie Holt, Country Road’s Creative Director, is excited about being able to take the brand’s lifestyle offering to the sky. “Like Qantas, Country Road has always embraced an authentic Australian way of life. We are passionate about providing our customers with effortless style and comfort within all aspects of their everyday life. Partnering with Qantas means we are now able to extend the same modern and versatile design experience to our customers while they travel,” said Ms Holt.
Qantas launched their Premium Economy service in early 2008 and passengers enjoy a private cabin of between 32 and 40 seats, depending on the aircraft type they are travelling on. The Marc Newson designed seats offer extra width and recline when compared to Economy, more legroom and a laptop power connection. There’s a self-service bar offering refreshments that you can access at any time during the flight, as well as the standard meal service. Premium Economy also comes with the added convenience of priority check-in and boarding. You can read a more detailed description of Qantas’ cabin classes on our website here.
