Upon boarding business class passengers receive a designer amenity kit filled with skincare products plus pyjamas for onboard comfort. The Doha and London business class lounges are some of the finest in the world. Qatar Airways business class dining is served restaurant style with full service, quality tableware and the option to eat as and when you choose.
Fare Families/Business Lite Fares
Qatar Airways have introduced 'Fare Families' which is a new branded fare concept. The airline claim that they offer these fares so that clients can have a choice to pay for what inclusions they want with their ticket. Unfortunately the effect of this new fare structure is that clients are having to pay for things that were typically considered included benefits of flying business class. Namely, lounge access and seat selection along with flexibility for changes and cancellation. The cheapest fares with Qatar Airways are now the 'Business Lite' fares which do not include lounge access or advanced seating. You can pay for these as an additional cost but it quickly adds up. The next fare level up is 'Business Classic' fare but these rates are often around $1k more.
Some of these issues are alleviated for high tier frequent flyer members. By having a oneworld Emerald or Sapphire membership [e.g. Qantas Gold or Qantas Platinum] you can get these benefits on a Business Lite fare without having to pay the additional costs. In these situations, lounge access in Doha excludes the flagship Al Mourjan lounge.
