Further to the news back in June of Qantas and American Airlines joining forces across the Pacific, AA has today confirmed the schedules for its non-stop flights between Sydney and Los Angeles.

Flight numbers AA72 and AA73 will operate on a three-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, and will begin flying on Saturday 19 December. Departing Sydney at 12 noon each day and arriving into LAX at 6:50am the same day, they will then complete their turnaround and depart Los Angeles at 9:50pm, arriving back into Sydney at 7:55am two days later.

American’s new product showcases fully lie-flat seats in First & Business, all with direct aisle access plus a walk-up bar, a feature that is growing in popularity on airlines across the board. All seats in all cabins have personal entertainment screens with up to 250 movies, over 180 TV programs and 350 audio selections, so plenty of choices to get you through the flight. The airline also announced the planes would be fitted with international Wi-Fi capability.

Obviously this new venture between American and Qantas will provide increased connectivity for passengers travelling to destinations beyond the key gateways of Los Angeles, San Francisco and Dallas Fort Worth. This includes the opportunity for passengers in the premium cabins to fly on to New York in First or Business either on American’s Airbus A321T or Qantas’ Airbus A380 aircraft.

Seats go on sale from this Monday 27 July.
