Cathay Pacific recently reopened their newly renovated Shanghai Pudong Lounge, the first of the airline’s award-winning lounge design to open in mainland China. Cathay Pacific hopes to provide is customers with a superior experience at every stage of the journey, and the new lounge will be another reason for travellers to arrive early, rest and recharge in the welcoming atmosphere before their flight.

Located in terminal 2 of Pudong airport near departure gate D69, the new lounge is a huge 970 square meters and follows the same warm and inviting style seen in Cathay Pacific’s other lounges across its global network.

As soon as passengers enter the lounge they leave the hustle and bustle of the airport behind and are transported to an oasis of serenity designed to reflect the comforts of a modern apartment. The stylish space is finished off with natural materials such as cherry wood, and limestone and furniture set up to allow guests to socialise in open areas or wind down more privately in peace and solitude.

The lounge features different zones similar to the airline's other lounges including The Terrace and the famous Noodle Bar. The Terrace is one of the lounge highlights, an L-shaped verandah that gives guests a panoramic view of the runway while seated at one of the dining tables or bespoke solo chairs. In the Terrace food hall, guests can enjoy a pre-flight refreshment and the convenience of self-serve international hot and cold dishes, freshly baked treats, cheese and a selection of cold cuts, as well as a variety of wine and spirits at a self-service bar.

The always popular Noodle Bar serves up signature dishes including Wonton soup, and Dan Dan Noodles as well as some of Shanghai’s own delectable culinary favourites including soups and dumplings.

The lounge is open from 5:30am to 9pm daily and is complete with high-speed WiFi and flight information screens to ensure passengers are able to relax, refresh and recharge without worry before their flight.
