The oneworld alliance has launched a new platform for airlines to link to the alliance. oneworld connect will offer selected benefits, with Fiji Airways being the first oneworld connect member airline.
No date has been announced as yet for when Fiji Airways will start offering the new oneworld connect, but it is expected to be revealed soon. Fiji Airways and any future oneworld connect partner airlines will be able to provide select oneworld alliance benefits to frequent flyer members including those outlined below.
Benefits of oneworld connect to passengers
- Through check-in of baggage including connections between a connect airline and any of it’s oneworld sponsors
- Earn and redeem Frequent Flyer rewards, and frequent flyer status points on eligible flights
- Access to lounges at key airports for First and Business class passengers and eligible high tier frequent flyer members
- Priority check in for passengers with Emerald, Sapphire or Ruby status with any oneworld member airline frequent flyer programme
- Priority boarding for passengers with Emerald or Sapphire status with any oneworld member airline frequent flyer programme
- Ability to include oneworld connect flights in oneworld member airlines round the world airfares
- IATA IOSA safety certification will need to be held by all oneworld connect member airlines
Fiji Airways currently operates to Australia, China, Fiji, Japan, Kiribati, New Zealand, Samoa, Singapore, Tonga, Tuvalu, US, and Vanuatu and has recently opened their new Premier lounge at Nadi, their Fijian hub. Fully flat beds are available on selected Fiji Airways flights, including out of Sydney. (Your QFlyer consultant can advise further on the availability of flat beds)

Qantas, Cathay Pacific, American Airlines, and British Airways have all sponsored Fiji Airways to join oneworld connect. More details and commencement dates to follow!
