It’s happened, the future is coming. You will be able to fly non-stop from Australia to Europe.
Qantas announced yesterday that the new 787-9 Dreamliner service will fly from Perth to London starting in March 2018.
The 14,498km flight will take around 17 hours and will become Qantas’s longest flight, bumping the current Sydney to Dallas route into 2nd place.
Qantas have tried to keep passenger comfort at the forefront with the design of the new aircraft given the length of time passengers will spend onboard. The planes are equipped with improved air quality, lower cabin noise and technology to reduce turbulence, along with a redesign of the onboard service to help reduce jetlag.
The Dreamliners will carry 236 passengers across Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins and the flights will initially depart from Qantas’s existing domestic terminal that will be upgraded to handle international flights.
