Finnair is set to elevate the travel experience with the unveiling of its brand-new lounge on the Schengen side of Helsinki Airport, opening on 9 July. Located near gate 21, the new lounge promises exceptional comfort and convenience for travellers.
New Finnair Lounge Is Coming To Helsinki Airport
“We are thrilled to introduce our new Schengen lounge, offering enhanced space and comfort for our passengers. In response to feedback from Finnair Plus tier members, we have also included an exclusive Finnair Platinum Corner for our Finnair Plus Platinum and Platinum Lumo members”, Ol Orvér, Chief Commercial Officer at Finnair. If you have a Finnair Business Light ticket, you can't access this lounge.
As Orvér highlights, the lounge will have two distinct areas: a Business Lounge and a Platinum Corner, the latter being a dedicated area for Platinum and Platinum Lumo members (as well as oneworld Sapphire & Emerald members). From 9 July, the main lounge will be accessible to:
Business Class Classic, Flex, and Saver fare holders
Finnair Plus Gold, Platinum, and Platinum Lumo status members
oneworld Emerald and Sapphire cardholders
Passengers who purchased lounge access as an extra during ticket booking (with discounts for Finnair Silver members)
“The new Finnair Lounge comfortably accommodates up to 440 guests, offering around 150 more seats than the current lounge. It features various areas tailored to different needs, including dining, working, resting, and spending time with travel companions”, said Meri Jävinen, Head of Airport Customer Experience.

The lounge’s design, crafted by Studio Joanna Laajisto, embodies Nordic serenity with its peaceful, natural, inviting atmosphere. Featuring wooden textures, soft forms, and warm colours, the design reflects the tranquillity of the Finnish landscape.
Furniture from prestigious Nordic design brands such as Artek, Nikari, and Gubi adds a touch of local craftsmanship. Guests can also enjoy spectacular views of the runway and airport gate area from the lounge.
