In a major development for travellers from Darwin, Qantas has announced the introduction of Qantas Singapore flights, marking the airline’s return to the route for the first time since 2006.
Commencing operations on 9 December 2024, the Qantas Singapore flights will initially operate five days per week, offering a seamless travel experience between the Northern Territory and the vibrant city-state. The frequency is set to increase to daily from March 2025, providing even more options for travellers eager to explore the diverse cultural offerings of Singapore or connect to other international destinations.
The new route, facilitated by the establishment of the E190 base at Darwin Airport, will be serviced by the dual-class Embraer E190 aircraft, adding over 60,000 seats annually. This direct Qantas Singapore flight route brings significant time savings, with a reduction of approximately five hours in flying time compared to routes through other Australian capital cities such as Sydney or Melbourne. Additionally, this service provides a seamless connection to London on QF1, along with access to various destinations across Europe and Asia through Qantas’ partner airlines.
