Construction is about to start on the much talked about new Qantas International hub at Perth Airport. The new hub is in preparation for the launch of the Qantas Perth - London direct flight and is set to make transferring from domestic to international services smoother and easier.
The new facility will be located within the existing T3/T4 area and will feature a streamlined immigration and customs area plus a large deck with alfresco seating, additional food and beverage outlets and a new Duty Free store.
Qantas flights from Perth - London will commence on March 24th 2018 with the Airline’s Melbourne - Dubai - London Service switching to Melbourne - Perth - London from March 25th.
Once open, all Qantas domestic services, the London service and Qantas flights to Singapore and Auckland will operate out of the new facility.
As part of the development Qantas will also construct a new International Transit Lounge with shower suites, a wellness facility and an outdoor patio serving a Neil Perry designed Australian BBQ style menu. Their existing Qantas Club in Terminal 1 will continue to operate for passengers on partner airlines.
The Hub has been designed to make the most of natural light and providing passengers with fresh air ahead of getting on the 17+ hour flight to Europe.
